When a "fnevNewMail | fnevExtended" event mask is set in an Advise() call to the store, new mail notification may not work.
CAUSE
This problem can occur because of an un-initialized variable in Exchange 2000 Server Service Pack 1 (SP1).
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the

To work around this problem, use a "fnevNewMail" event mask instead of the "fnevNewMail | fnevExtended" event mask; if you do so, new mail notification works. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server SP1. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Service Pack 2.
