On This PageSYMPTOMSNOTE: This only applies to Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Spanish version.
The installation of the Spanish version of SQL Server 2000 may fail with the following error message:
"Se produjo un error que impide realizar un correcto cambio de version. Compruebe que el Editor del Registro, el Analizador de consultas e ISQL estan cerrados e intente ejecutar vswitch.exe de nuevo."
"An error occurred which prevented a successful version switch. Please make sure the Registry Editor, Query Analyzer and ISQL are closed, and try running vswitch.exe again."
CAUSE
A resource in the vswitch utility has been localized incorrectly.
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft SQL Server 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the

To work around this problem, use these steps:

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SQL Server 2000 Spanish.
This problem was first corrected in Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 2.
