SYMPTOMS

When you plug in your Microtek V6UPL scanner to a USB port after you install the manufacturer-supplied driver (ScanWizard version 5.05), you may receive the following error message:

Installer can't find lstwain.ds

CAUSE

This issue can occur because ScanWizard 5.05 is not totally compatible with Windows XP.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, upgrade ScanWizard 5.05 to ScanWizard version 5.12. For information about how to do so, with the following Microtek Web site:
