Error Message: Window Media Player Cannot Play the DVD Because of Problems on Analog Copyright Protection

SYMPTOMS

When you play a DVD in Windows Media Player for Windows XP, you may receive the following error message when you minimize the player during playback:
Window Media Player cannot play the DVD because of problems on analog copyright protection.

CAUSE

This error message is caused by the InterVideo WinDVD decoder version 1.3.1. This decoder version is not fully compatible with Windows XP.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, you need to obtain an updated MPEG-2 decoder for DVD playback. Refer to the following InterVideo Web site for additional information:
