Some Wireless Attribute Values Are Not Available in Windows 2000

SYMPTOMS

If you use a wireless device with Windows 2000, the following values are not available in the RADIUS-Types attributes file:

Values for RADIUS Attribute 49, Acct-Terminate-Cause [RFC 2866]:
  • 19 Supplicant Restart [Congdon]
  • 20 Reauthentication Failure [Congdon]
  • 21 Port Reinit [Congdon]
  • 22 Port Disabled [Congdon]
Values for RADIUS Attribute 61, NAS-Port-Type [RFC 2865]:
  • 20 Token-Ring [Congdon]
  • 21 FDDI [Congdon]
Values for RADIUS Attribute 64, Tunnel-Type [RFC 2868]:
  • 13 Virtual LANs (VLAN) [Congdon]

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Windows 2000 Service Pack 3.
