Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • The Folder Redirection feature is enabled for a user to redirect his or her documents to a home folder in Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1.

  • The home folder is supported by offline files.

  • You have the Music, Pictures, and Videos folders of the user follow the Documents folder.

  • You change the destination location of the home folder for the redirected documents to a new location.

In this scenario, the Folder Redirection feature does not update the location of the folder, and offline files do not recognize the new home folder.
