Symptoms

Assume that you create a snapshot on a database that contains FILESTREAM filegroups in Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or SQL Server 2014, and FILESTREAM non-transactional access is enabled on the database. After you restart the SQL Server service, non-transactional access is disabled on the database. Additionally, you receive the following error message 33415 in the error log:

FILESTREAM DIRECTORY_NAME '<directory_name>' attempting to be set on database '<database_name>' is not unique in this SQL Server instance. Provide a unique value for the database option FILESTREAM DIRECTORY_NAME to enable non-transacted access.

When you try to alter the database, you also receive the error message 33415, and the database is not altered.
