When you install a Microsoft Access 2002 run-time package on a Microsoft Windows NT 4.0-based computer, the system update portion of the setup is installed, but you are not prompted to restart the computer. The remaining portion of the package setup fails silently, and therefore the setup is never completed.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, download and install Office XP Developer Service Pack 1 (SP-1) on your development computer. Then, repackage the application and redistribute it to users who are running Windows NT 4.0. When you install a run-time package on a Windows NT 4.0-based computer, you always have to restart the computer after the system update portion of the setup.
