OL2002: Error Message When You Try to Update Free/Busy Data

SYMPTOMS

When you try to update free/busy data, you may receive the following error message:
Unable to update free/busy data

CAUSE

If the free/busy data disappears while Outlook 2002 is running, Microsoft Outlook does not create a new free/busy data object. Instead, every time that Outlook tries to update the free busy data, it fails, and you receive the error message described in the "Symptoms" section of this article.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Office XP. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Office XP Service Pack 1.
