When you play Windows Media Video (WMV) files with Windows Media Player 7 on a computer running Microsoft Windows 98, stuttering (freezing of frames for a period of time) may occur.
When you play the same content on a computer running Microsoft Windows 2000, this problem does not occur.
A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem.
