OL2000: Personal Distribution Lists That Contain Hyphens Do Not Resolve Properly

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Outlook, a personal distribution list that contains a hyphen and begins and ends with the same letter (or number) may not resolve. For example, if you name a personal distribution list "Office-O," that personal distribution list may not resolve properly (when you click Check Names), and you may be prompted to select from a list of the nearest matches.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Office 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

The English-language version of this fix should have the following file attributes or later:

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Office 2000 Service Pack 3 (SP-3).
