This article describes how to directly access File Transfer Protocol (FTP) Web sites with Internet Explorer 5.5.
To access FTP sites directly, type the Uniform Resource Locator (URL) in the Address box for the FTP site to which you want to connect, for example:
How to Download a File or FolderTo download a file or folder, right-click the file or folder, and then click Copy to Folder.
How to Log On As a Different UserTo log on to the FTP site as a different user, click Login As on the File menu.
How to Rename, Delete, or Upload ItemsTo rename or delete items in an FTP folder, or to paste items to an FTP site (upload), right-click the item, and then click Rename, Delete, or Paste just as you can when you use either Windows Explorer or My Computer.
