This article was previously published under Q306789 SYMPTOMS
When you use AuthFilter for Commerce Server 2000, you may receive a Dr. Watson error from Inetinfo.exe, and the IIS Admin Service stops.
The Dr. Watson error log contains the following information:
Application exception occurred: App: inetinfo.exe (pid=3624) When: 14/08/2001 @ 18:50:45.312 Exception number: c00000fd (stack overflow) *----> Stack Back Trace <----* FramePtr ReturnAd Param#1 Param#2 Param#3 Param#4 Function Name 0949306C 6E5AA6DD 00460000 00000000 00000022 6E5AF02B ntdll!RtlAllocateHeap 094930AC 00000020 00000000 779B3438 04B4F7E8 094930F0 iisRtl!IisMalloc CAUSE
Under a high system load with many concurrent users, AuthFilter can enter a recursive loop that will finally cause a stack overflow.
