SYMPTOMS

When you are using a computer that has a smart card reader, the following error message may appear even though no smart card is inserted into the smart card reader:
The Smart Card is in backwards.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur because of a failure in the smart card reader hardware.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, contact the manufacturer of the smart card reader hardware.
