Article ID: 307665 - Last Review: January 31, 2007 - Revision: 1.2 Plus! for Windows XP Screen Saver Images are Cut Off or Not Displayed Full ScreenThis article was previously published under Q307665 SYMPTOMS
When you use a Microsoft Plus! for Windows XP screen saver, the screen saver image may not appear as expected. The image may be cut off or may not cover the whole screen.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you are using display settings that are not supported by the screen saver and your monitor does not change the screen size when the video adapter changes the resolution or refresh rate. Plus! for Windows XP screen savers change the display resolution to 640 x 480 pixels and reset the refresh rate to 60 hertz (Hz) or 70 Hz when you use a display mode that is not supported by the screen saver. For example, this behavior may occur if all of the following conditions are true:
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, use the controls on the monitor to adjust the size and position of the screen saver display so that the screen saver fills the entire screen and is not cut off.
Monitor controls are usually located on the front of the monitor.
