SMS: Software Metering FoxPro Drivers Are Not Compatible with Windows Server 2003

SYMPTOMS

When you enable a Systems Management Server (SMS) Software Metering server on a Windows Server 2003-based server computer, you may receive many 9235 status messages that state that you cannot install the Software Metering server.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because there is a version incompatibility; you cannot install SMS Software Metering on Windows Server 2003-based servers unless you first upgrade the Microsoft Visual FoxPro drivers on the server. If you install SMS with Software Metering before you upgrade the Visual FoxPro drivers, some functionality may be lost with Software Metering.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, download the latest drivers for Visual FoxPro from the following Microsoft Web site:
