SYMPTOMS

An access violation may occur if you try to access the Filter property of an ActiveX Data Objects (ADO) Recordset object on a multi-processor computer under heavy load.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because there are two threads that are both contending for the same line of code in the Msado15.dll file.

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Data Access Components 2.6. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
