The dotnetfxredist_x86.enu.exe file is an executable file that self-installs the latest version of the .NET Framework. The .NET Framework is installed by Visual Studio .NET by default, but it may need to be distributed with applications built in Visual Studio .NET to ensure that the framework required for the Visual Studio .NET applications runs properly on the target computer.

The redistributable file may be installed from the .NET Windows Component Update CD-ROM in the dotNetFramwork directory, and from the wcu\dotNetFramework directory if from a DVD-ROM.
