accounts may not be displayed on the Security tab in the properties of a folder. If you try to add an account,
you may receive the following error message: Object
Picker cannot open because it cannot determine whether fully_qualified_domain_name is joined to the domain. CAUSE This problem may occur if you reference SharePoint Portal
Server with a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) that does not specifically use the
computer name. For example, you can correctly configure the security for a
folder if you use a URL with the following format gain access to the server:
http://computer_name/workspace However, you cannot correctly configure the security for a folder
if you use a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) URL with the following format
to gain access to the server:
http://www.server.com/workspace/
RESOLUTIONTo
resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for SharePoint Portal
