Visio2002: Text Rotated 180 Degrees When You Save Drawing As an AutoCAD .dwg or .dxf File

SYMPTOMS

If you save a Microsoft Visio 2002 diagram in the AutoCAD .dwg or .dxf file format, text in shapes that have been flipped horizontally may be rotated an additional 180 degrees when you open the .dwg file or .dxf file.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs if all of the following conditions are true:
  • You are using Microsoft Visio 2002 (not Visio 2002 Service Release 1 [SR-1]).
  • The text is grouped to a shape that has been rotated or flipped horizontally.
  • The Visio drawing file was saved in the AutoCAD .dwg or .dxf file format.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service release for Microsoft Visio 2002.
