XADM: An Outlook ACL Is Rendered Inaccessible If You View the ACL in an IFS Share in Windows ExplorerArticle ID: 309766 - View products that this article applies to. This article was previously published under Q309766 SYMPTOMS
After you modify a default access control list (ACL) in Microsoft Outlook (for example, when you grant Read access to another user on your Calendar), if you use Microsoft Windows Explorer to examine the ACL in the Exchange installable file system (IFS) share, you may receive the following error message:
The permissions on Calendar are incorrectly ordered, which may cause some entries to be ineffective. Press OK to continue and sort the permissions correctly, or Cancel to reset the permissions.
The modified permissions could not be saved. The client operation failed.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, do not use IFS to edit public folder ACLs in Windows Explorer.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. PropertiesArticle ID: 309766 - Last Review: February 28, 2007 - Revision: 1.4
