If you try to save a Microsoft Word document that was opened from a Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 SP6 Server that is running Index Server, you may receive the following error message:
Word cannot complete the save due to a file permission error
Access Denied
CAUSE
This problem can occur when the Index Server has catalogued the Word documents.

Method 3On the File menu in Word 2002, click Save As and then save the document as Word97-2002&6.0/95 RTF.Method 4Upgrade to Microsoft Windows 2000 Server. This problem does not occur with the Windows 2000 Index Server option.STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Office XP Service Pack 2 (SP-2).
