Devices May Not Power Up Properly When Resuming From Standby

SYMPTOMS

When you resume your computer from standby, your computer may stop responding (hang).

CAUSE

This problem can occur if the Pci.sys driver does not wait the required 10 milliseconds to access a device after power is turned on.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows XP. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
