On a server that experiences a heavy input/output (I/O) load, you may receive the following error message on a blue screen:
*** STOP 0x000000D8 DRIVER_USED_EXCESSIVE_PTES
CAUSE
This problem occurs because the Scsiport.sys driver causes a Fatal System Error 0x000000d8 when not enough Page Table Entries (PTEs) are available. System PTEs are significantly reduced when you use 4GT tuning (this is also known as the /3GB switch).
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the
