SUMMARY

This article describes how to add text that describes a picture within FrontPage 2002 pages. Web browsers display this alternate text in the following situations:
While a picture downloads

When the Show Graphics option is turned off in the browser

When a site visitor uses screen-reading software to convert pictures to spoken words

When a site visitor moves the mouse pointer over the picture
Perform the following procedure on a Web page that you have saved that contains a picture.

Create Alternate Text

1.In Page view, right-click the picture, and then click Picture Properties on the shortcut menu that appears.
2.Click the General tab. Under Alternative representations, type the alternate text in the Text box.

This text appears next to the mouse pointer when you move the mouse pointer over the picture.

View and Test Alternate Text

1.Click the Preview tab.
2.To view the text that you added, move the mouse pointer over the picture.
