When you try to open a file or document that resides on a Distributed File System (DFS) share, it may take a long amount of time to open the resource (from 90 seconds to 15 minutes). However, you may be able to quickly open the same resource by using a UNC path.
CAUSE
The problem is caused when the WebClient redirector does not cache information.
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows XP. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the
