Summary

This article describes the Microsoft Action Pack subscription that is available to Partners. This is an annual subscription that includes Microsoft Partner Guides, Microsoft Project Guides, Partner Readiness Courses, and Microsoft Not-for-Distribution (NFD) software. Additionally, the Plus subscription to the Action Pack includes a one-year subscription to Microsoft bCentral List Builder.

You must remove the NFD software from the computer at the end of the subscription period (one year) unless you renew the subscription or purchase valid product licenses. The software included in the Microsoft Action Pack is subject to change. Previous Action Pack Welcome Kits have included the following products:

Eligibility

The Microsoft Partner Action Pack subscription is restricted to resellers, consultants, value-added resellers, value-added providers, system integrators, developers, system builders, hosts, service providers, and IT professionals who sell Microsoft products or provide solutions based on Microsoft products and technologies to third-party customers.

The software products that are included with the subscription are NFD versions. You can use them only for testing, evaluation, demonstration, training, and educational purposes. For example, you can use the Action Pack software to host your company's intranet but the software cannot be used to host a commercial Web site. This is considered a production environment that is outside the scope of the software's intended purpose.

Client Access Licenses

You can purchase additional Client Access Licenses (CALs) from a Microsoft Authorized Distributor. Customers in North America can direct comments, questions, suggestions, or assistance request to the Microsoft Action Pack Subscription Program at the following e-mail address:

This is an excerpt from the agreement:

Subscription Term and Termination. The term of this Subscription is one (1) year from the date you purchase the Subscription. It is important that you maintain properly licensed Microsoft products. You agree that Microsoft may terminate this Agreement, without prejudice to any other rights or remedies, at any time without prior written notice to you in the event that you:

(a) Violate the End User License Agreements accompanying Microsoft products;

(b) Resell, transfer, or use the Microsoft Action Pack Subscription Product Licenses for any purpose other than demonstration, testing, education, or evaluation; or

(c) Engage in, or participate with any third party in, the unauthorized manufacture, duplication, distribution or use of any Microsoft products or otherwise infringe any other intellectual property right of Microsoft.

(d) Upon expiration or earlier termination of this Agreement, you agree to immediately cease use of and to destroy all copies of any Microsoft Products provided with or licensed under the Subscription, including but not limited to, all Not for Retail Distribution software media and all Microsoft Action Pack Subscription Product License copies.
