RSoP Tool Incorrectly Displays Software Restriction Policies

SYMPTOMS

When you generate Resultant Set of Policy (RSoP) data, you may note that user-specific software restriction policies appear in the "Extra Registry Settings" category, instead of (or in addition to) the correct location under User Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Software Restrictions. The information may take a form that is similar to the following:

CAUSE

This problem can be caused by the method that console uses to load the policy administrative templates. Software restriction policies are a special case of registry settings, and are processed differently.
