"XML page cannot be displayed" error message when you use Money Help

When you try to view help in Microsoft Money, you may receive an error message that resembles one of the following:

This issue may occur if some Microsoft Internet Explorer files or HTML Help viewer files are out of date or are corrupted.

You may be able to resolve this issue by clearing your Temporary Internet files or by repairing the version of Internet Explorer that is installed on the computer. To do this, follow these steps.

Note Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.

1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. In Control Panel, click Network and Internet Options, and then click Internet Options.
3. On the General tab, click Delete files in the Temporary Internet files pane, and then click OK.

To repair Internet Explorer 6 in Windows XP, download Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1. If the computer is already running Service Pack 1, download the file again, and then reinstall the software to repair the original installation.

Note Windows XP includes Microsoft Internet Explorer 6. Internet Explorer 6 is a core component in the Windows XP operating system.

You may be able to resolve this issue by installing the latest HTML Help update. To download the update to the Help Viewer, visit the following Microsoft Web site:

To work around this issue, make sure that Money is configured to use your default browser. Then, use the Table of Contents feature in Money Help to locate and to view the Help topics that you want. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Start Money.
2. On the Tools menu, click Settings, and then click the Browser Settings.
   
   In Microsoft Money 2003 and earlier, click Options, and then click the Connection tab.
3. Under Browser, click Always use my default browser to browse the Internet, and then click OK.
4. On the Help menu, click Microsoft Money Help.
5. In the Money Help pane, click All Topics. A list of all Money Help topics appears.
   
   In Microsoft Money 2004 and earlier, click Contents.
6. Click the subject area that you want--for example, click Accounts.
   
   A list of Help topics that is contained in that particular subject appears. A multiple-page icon next to an item indicates that the topic contains subtopics. Click the topic to list the subtopics. For example, click Working with accounts.
7. Click the Help topic that you want--for example, click Transfer money between accounts.
