If you run the Dcdiag tool against a domain controller, Dcdiag may report a Domain Name System (DNS) error even if the DNS entries are correct. You may receive an error report that is similar to:
Testing server: DOMAIN\SERVER Starting test: Connectivity * Active Directory LDAP Services Check The host 3ca68143-01f2-4ccc-a946-daac0673e3af._msdcs.domain.com could not be resolved to a valid IP address. Check the DNS server, DHCP, server name, etc ......................... SERVER failed test Connectivity
* Active Directory LDAP Services Check The host ') could not be resolved to a valid IP address. CAUSE
This problem can occur if all four octets of the domain controller's IP address are above 99.
