PPT2000: PowerPoint Stops Responding When You Apply a Font to a Bulleted List

SYMPTOMS

When you apply a font to bulleted text in a text box, you receive the following error message:
PowerPoint found an error it cannot correct. You should save your presentation, quit, and then restart PowerPoint.

CAUSE

This problem occurs with certain fonts that do not completely comply with the TrueType standard. Microsoft PowerPoint cannot read the font correctly and generates an error.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Office 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

The English version of this fix should have the following file attributes or later. The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Office 2000 Service Pack 3 (SP-3).
