When you attempt to open a message in Outlook Express, and the view is set to Show all messages, you may receive the following error messages:
There was an error opening this message. An error has occurred.
Message could not be displayed: Outlook Express encountered an unexpected problem while displaying this message. Check your computer for low memory or low disk space and try again.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if McAfee VirusScan version 4.5 or 6 is installed with Outlook Express.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, use one of the following methods. IMPORTANT: The following methods may cause virus protection to be partially or completely disabled, causing the system to be vulnerable to virus infection. Therefore Microsoft does not recommend these methods. Remove McAfee VirusScan ProgramTo remove the McAfee VirusScan program, follow these steps:
