Wireless Modem May Not Start

SYMPTOMS

After you install an Enfora wireless modem, the device may not start and error code 10 may be displayed in Device Manager.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when the Personal Computer Memory Card International Association (PCMCIA) bus driver sends a reset command to the device because the driver expected a ready command. If a device does not send a ready command, the bus driver does not start.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows XP. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
