You receive an "Unable to display the folder" error message when you click the Outlook Today folder in Outlook 2002 and in Outlook 2003

SYMPTOMS

When you click the Outlook Today folder, you may receive the following error message:
Unable to display the folder

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the Outlook Today home page is set to an incorrect or outdated address path.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, change the URL for the Outlook Today home page. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Right-click the folder for the Outlook Today page, and then click Properties for <folder name>.
  2. Click the Home Page tab.
  3. Click Restore Defaults.
  4. Click OK.
