use of SharePoint Portal Server (SPS) 2001. MORE INFORMATIONSharePoint Portal Server Resource KitInformation and code that are provided as part of the SharePoint Portal Server Resource Kit are not supported by Microsoft Product Support Services (PSS).Web PartsThe following Web Parts are supported on an "as is" basis. This means that the Web Parts should install and run correctly if the stated conditions are met. Any Web Parts that are not on this list are not supported by Microsoft Product Support Services.
Limited Support for File ModificationsModification of any SharePoint Portal Server files other than Catalogs.xml and DashBoardExtensions.vbs is not supported. Any other files that are installed by SPS may be overwritten by any SPS upgrade, repair, or service pack installation.Functions in TahoeUtils.aspThe functions exposed by the TahoeUtils.asp file are considered proprietary code and are not supported for use in customer code.Unsupported InterfacesInterfaces, methods, or properties that are not documented in the SharePoint Portal Server software development kit (SDK) are not supported. The SDK does not document many of the libraries that are installed by SharePoint Portal Server. For example, the following libraries are not supported for customer development:
CDO for Exchange 2000 ServerDirect use of Collaboration Data Objects (CDO) for Exchange 2000 Server is supported only on servers that are running Exchange 2000. Code that is written to the CDO for Windows 2000 library standard is supported provided that it does not rely on any Exchange 2000-specific behavior. For example, sending e-mail through a Simple Mail Transfer Protocol(SMTP) port is supported, but accessing items in the Web Storage System (WSS) by way of a CDO.Item object is not supported. For information on what is supported on an SPS server or client, see the documentation for CDO for Windows 2000.Web Storage System Application DevelopmentAll Web Storage System (WSS) application development must be performed only under the Applications folder, not under the SharePoint Portal Server Workspaces folder.REFERENCES For additional information, see the Readme.htm file in the
