When you try to apply a service pack earlier than Service Pack 3a (SP3a) to SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Evaluation Edition, you receive the following error message: MSSQLSERVER is an Evaluation version. Cannot upgrade an Evaluation version of SQL Server 2000. Setup will now exit. MORE INFORMATIONBeginning with SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 3a, service packs can be applied to SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Evaluation Edition.
