This article describes how to manually remove the Fax Server component from a Microsoft Small Business Server (SBS) 2000 installation. This procedure may be necessary if you are unable to remove the Fax Server component by using the Add/Remove Programs tool in Control Panel.
WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may

To completely remove the SBS Fax Server component:
- Stop the Microsoft Shared Fax service in the Services MMC.
- Stop the Print Spooler service in the Services MMC.
- Open the Printers tool in Control Panel, and then unshare the Fax printer.
- Delete the following files and folders (including subfolders), where number is a number between 0 and 9:

Note that if multiple numbered folders exist, you must delete the files in each subfolder. - Remove the Microsoft Shared Fax command from the Programs menu by deleting the Microsoft Shared Fax folder from one of the following two locations:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Microsoft Shared Fax
%SYSTEMROOT%\Profiles\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Microsoft Shared Fax
NOTE: The "C:\Documents and Settings" folder is present on new installations of Microsoft Windows 2000 Server or SBS 2000. The %SYSTEMROOT%\Profiles folder is present on SBS 2000 upgrades from SBS 4.5.
- Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe), and then delete the following keys:
