OL2000: Dr. Watson Error When You Open an Outlook Form Template Shortcut

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to open an Outlook Form template (.oft) shortcut that is saved on your desktop or in the Start menu, the Explorer.exe file may cause a Dr. Watson error to occur.

CAUSE

This problem can occur when you have multiple .oft shortcuts on your desktop that are accessing a file share of the .oft files.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Office 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
