List of Problems That Are Fixed in Services for NetWare 5.0 Service Packs

Services for NetWare 5.02 Service Pack 2 (SP2)

Services for NetWare 5.02 Service Pack 2 (SP2) contains fixes for the following problems.

Microsoft Directory Synchronization Services (MSDSS)

• Services for Netware on Windows Server 2003 does not successfully install during the first installation attempt and then succeeds on the second attempt.
• MSDSS incorrectly deletes a user account if a failure occurs while MSDSS is reading from a Novell Directory Service (NDS) GUID.
• Group memberships are lost during a MSDSS multisession migration.
• You receive an incorrect message that a File and Print Services for NetWare (FPNW) access violation occurred in Nwssvc.exe during service startup.
• FPNWSrv stops responding when you provide a path of more than 255 characters.
• The Fpnwsrv.sys driver is blocked, and the FPNW service does not start after you upgrade to a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 operating system with File and Print Services for NetWare installed.
• MSDSS is now able to synchronize the departmental attribute from NDS to the Active Directory directory service.
• Microsoft File Migration Utility FMU incorrectly reports that a forest is unavailable.

Microsoft Directory Synchronization Services (MSDSS)

• Fixes a problem where migration may not migrate all the NetWare Directory Services (NDS) group members.
• Fixes a problem with the session error message "Unable to modify the 'Login Disabled' attribute."
• Adds a new option to synchronize the CN attribute in NDS to sAMAccountname in Active Directory.
• Fixes a problem with sessions appearing multiple times in the MSDSS GUI.
• Fixes a problem where the NDS last name attribute is set to the Active Directory full name.

Microsoft File Migration Utility

• Corrects a problem in which migration stops when it encounters a file or folder with extended ASCII characters.
• Adds the ability to migrate Macintosh files from NetWare volumes.
• Substantially improves performance.
