OL2002: LDAP Provider Does Not Show Title and Phone Number on the Check Names Dialog Box

SYMPTOMS

The Outlook Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) provider does not display the title or the business phone number in the Check Names dialog box. The LDAP provider only displays the display name, e-mail name and e-mail type.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Office XP. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Office XP Service Pack 2 (SP-2).

After you install the fix described in this article, the Business Phone, Office, Title, and Company fields are displayed so you can further distinguish the entries in the Check Names dialog box.
