OFFXP: Objects May Not Be Displayed Correctly When You Use Third-Party Magnification Software

SYMPTOMS

When you use third-party magnification software with the Microsoft Office XP products that are listed at the beginning of this article, objects may not be displayed correctly.

Some of the third-party products that are affected include the following:

ZoomText Magnifier by AI Squared
Super Nova Reader/Magnifier by Dolphin
MAGic by Freedom Scientific

CAUSE

These products do not work correctly, because the user interface that is required for them to work with Office XP does not exist.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Office XP. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

NOTE: Applying this fix alone does not resolve the problem with the third-party screen magnification software listed in the "Summary" section. You must contact your software vendor for an update that works with the fix that is described in this article. For contact information, see the "More Information" section of this article.

The English version of this fix should have the following file attributes or later:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Office XP Service Pack 2 (SP-2).
