WD2000: User Receives "Insufficient Memory" Error Message After You Set the OnAction Property of a Custom Pop-up Menu

SYMPTOMS

After you set the OnAction property of a custom pop-up menu (which is applied to a shortcut menu) to a Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) macro, the following behaviors may occur when a user selects the custom pop-up menu in Word 2000:
  • The user receives the following error message:
    There is insufficient memory or disk space. Close extra windows and save your work.
  • Word quits or stops responding (crashes).

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Office 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Office 2000 Service Pack 3 (SP-3).
