Site Server logon problems occur after you apply certain Windows 2000 hotfixes

SYMPTOMS

Logon to Site Server mapped Web sites may randomly fail after you install the fix from either of the following Microsoft Knowledge Base articles:
319733  (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/319733/ ) MS02-018: April 2002 cumulative patch for Internet Information Services
313450  (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/313450/ ) MS02-012: A malformed data transfer request may cause the Windows SMTP service to stop working
NOTE: Q313450 is included in Microsoft Windows 2000 SRP1 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/311401) , MS02-011 (http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS02-011.mspx) and MS02-012 (http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS02-012.mspx) . Both Forms and Basic (cleartext) authentication randomly fail after you install these fixes.
