Erratic Behavior Occurs If You Create a "Desktop" Folder on the Desktop

SYMPTOMS

If you create a folder that is named "Desktop" on the desktop, tree view in Windows Explorer may behave erratically. Any of the following symptoms may occur:

If you click the plus sign (+) on a node in tree view, the folders that are located below that node are not displayed.
The Desktop folder is displayed multiple times in tree view.
Several other folders appear in tree view with unintelligible or garbled characters as the folder names.
You receive an error message that is similar to:
"F:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\Desktop\Desktop" refers to a location that is unavailable. It could be on a hard drive on this computer, or on a network. Check to make sure that the disk is properly inserted, or that you are connected to the Internet or your network, and then try again. If it still cannot be located, the information might have been moved to a different location.
