SYMPTOMS
You may not be able to move a mailbox. You may receive error messages that mention messages in the Low or High folders. However, no such folders are displayed in the mailbox that you are trying to move. Error messages that are similar to the following may be logged in the Application event log:
Event Type: Error Event Source: MSExchangeIS Mailbox Store Event Category: Move Mailbox Event ID: 8501 Description: Unable to move mailbox [Mailbox Name]. A problem occurred while opening an attachment. Parent folder name: Low, parent message subject: [Message Subject]; Error code: 0xfffff9bf. Run ISINTEG to check for any problem in the database "[Storage Group Name]\[Mailbox Store Name]". Event Type: Error Event Source: MSExchangeIS Mailbox Store Event Category: Move Mailbox Event ID: 8507 Description: Unable to move mailbox [Mailbox Name]. A problem occurred while getting the properties for a message. Parent folder name: Low; Message subject: [Message Subject]; Error code: 0xfffff9bf. Run ISINTEG to check for any problem in the database "[Storage Group Name]\[Mailbox Store Name]". Event Type: Error Event Source: MSExchangeAdmin Event Category: Move Mailbox Event ID: 9172 Description: Failed to copy messages to the destination mailbox store. Error: The MAPI call failed. MAPI or an unspecified service provider. ID no: 80004005-0000-00000000 Event Type: Error Event Source: MSExchangeAdmin Event Category: Move Mailbox Event ID: 1008 Description: Unable to move mailbox '[Mailbox Name]'. Error: The MAPI call failed. MAPI or an unspecified service provider. ID no: 80004005-0000-00000000 CAUSE
This problem may occur if the mailbox that Exchange 2000 is trying to move contains a damaged message. The message is located in the folder that the error message mention. The Low and High folders that the preceding error messages mention are created by Microsoft Outlook Mobile Manager. You cannot use Outlook to view the Low and High folders in the mailbox.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, use Mdbvu32 to remove the damaged message. Mdbvu32 is a Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) client that is included on the Exchange 2000 CD-ROM. To use Mdbvu32 to remove the damaged message:
