RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, use either of the following methods.

Method 1: Use Microsoft SharePoint Administrator to Administer the Web

NOTE: Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.

To start Microsoft SharePoint Administrator, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Microsoft SharePoint Administrator.

If Administrative Tools is not included on the list of programs, follow these steps:
1.Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2.Double-click Taskbar and Start Menu.
3.Click the Start Menu tab, and then click Customize.
4.Click the Advanced tab, and then in the Start menu items list, click Display on the All Programs menu under System Administrative Tools.
5.Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Microsoft SharePoint Administrator.

Method 2: Create a New MMC File

To create a new MMC file to administer the Web, follow these steps:

1.Click Start, and then click Run.
2.In the Open box, type mmc, and then click OK.
3.On the Console menu, click Add/Remove Snap-in.
4.Click Add.
5.Click Internet Information Services, and then click Add.
6.Click Close, and then click OK.
7.In the console tree, expand Internet Information Server, and then expand the computer icon.
8.Right-click Default Web Site, click All Tasks, and then click Check Server Extensions.

The new MMC file connects to the FrontPage Server Extensions.
9.On the File menu, click Save, and then quit MMC.
