You cannot track the messages in the Exchange System Manager message tracking center. You receive the following error message in Exchange System Manager.
Additionally, if you try to access the Directory Access tab on a server in Exchange System Manager, you receive the following error message:
Check to see that the Microsoft Exchange Management Service is started on the Exchange 2000 server
Information about directory services could not be entirely obtained. Check to see that the Microsoft Exchange Management Service is started on the Exchange 2000 server
To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Service Pack 3.
