during the startup process. This behavior may occur if you are using some USB
keyboards that have an incorporated PS/2 mouse port, and a mouse is connected
to the port on the keyboard. CAUSE The delay occurs because of a longer response time for the

and then reconnecting the USB keyboard during the delay. STATUSMicrosoft has

This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 4. MORE INFORMATION This issue occurs approximately 5 percent of the time when
you start your computer. When the problem occurs, the GUI-mode progress bar
shows 12 completed bars. This is when I8042prt.sys detects the keyboard and
