PRB: MSDTC service must be started to install Application Center 2000

SYMPTOMS

When you try to install Application Center 2000, you receive the following error message:
"Internal Error 2744. register_CLBSetup.exe,
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Application
Center\CLBSetup.exe /i The program experienced an
internal error. If ths condition persists, restart the
application or contact your support personnel."
When you run the ACCOMPlusVerify tool to correct the Register_clbsetup.exe error, you receive the following error message:
"8004e00f: Error retrieving COM+ catalog collection. Ensure COM+ is installed correctly."

CAUSE

The Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MSDTC) server is not running. Application Center 2000 must use MSDTC to have access to the COM+ catalog. Application Center 2000 requires access to the COM+ catalog for installation.

RESOLUTION

Verify that the MSDTC service is started.
