If you call the LockWorkstation function from a screen saver (or while a screen saver is running), the computer locks as expected. However, the computer no longer responds to the CTRL+ALT+DELETE key combination. When this problem occurs, you must reset the computer.
This problem occurs because Winlogon enters a state in which secure attention sequence (SAS) key sequences are not processed. Other processes on the computer continue to run, and the computer continues to be accessible over the network.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 4.
